Grease 40th anniversary

As the iconic 1970s movie celebrates 40 years, Danny and Sandy prove they’re still hopelessly devoted to each other.

Although it has been 40 years since iconic movie Grease made its debut, Newton-John and Travolta still look the best of friends. And, even after 40 years, Grease is STILL the word!

Hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the event drew many a famous face from the halls of Rydell High, including actress Didi Conn, who starred as Frenchie in the film, as well as actor Barry Pearl, who played T-Birds member Doody.

Travolta and Newton-John, whose characters Danny and Sandy have been hailed as one of the greatest on-screen duos of all time, cosied up together on the red carpet — even busting out a famous dance move.

The 1978 film based on the musical of the same name went onto spawn a hugely popular soundtrack, which became second-best-selling album of the year, with the ballad “Hopelessly Devoted to You” nabbing an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.
