‘We had some guts and some luck, but we were just makin’ a buck.
Movies were movies were movies when I ran the show!’

CTC are thrilled to bring Mack & Mabel to Loughborough Town Hall. A glamorous and dazzling musical comedy, Mack & Mabel is both a poignant love story and a riveting tribute to the grit and glamour of the era of silent movies.

About the show

Not long ago, and without saying a word, a group of pioneering film-makers changed the world. Helped by heroes in capes, pies in the face, and girls tied to the tracks, they made stars out of street kids, and riches from rags.

Based on the real-life romance between legendary filmmaker Mack Sennett and his beautiful, talented rising star Mabel Normand, Mack and Mabel captures the excitement of Hollywood’s golden age, the fun and action of the silent screen, the hysterical madcap chaos of Fatty Arbuckle and the Keystone Kops, and the glamour of the bathing beauties.

Mack & Mabel received eight Tony Award nominations when it originally opened on Broadway. Featuring music and lyrics by the great Jerry Herman (Hello, Dolly!, La Cage Aux Folles, Mame) and a book by Michael Stewart (42nd Street, Barnum), Mack & Mabel is packed full of Broadway hits, including; I Won’t Send Roses, Tap Your Troubles Away, Time Heals Everything and Movies Were Movies.

Featuring a hugely talented cast, a stunning orchestra, breathtaking costumes and sets, and fabulous choreography, this is a fantastic opportunity to see CTC’s brand new production of one of the all-time great musicals, book now to avoid disappointment!
